The Magic Kindgom
Last week, we took the kids on a three-day trip to Disneyland. The week before, we told them the zoo trip was their birthday present (are they gullible or what?). Boy were they surprised when we flew them in our zillion-dollar Learjet to Disneyland. Speaking of planes, has anyone noticed the wings block the view out the window. Can’t someone design a plane without wings? How hard can that be?
The Disney trip was partially subsidized by our economic stimulus check. Normally, I would have just saved the money for a rainy day (literally - we have four roof/gutter leaks to repair!). But life is too short. I decided I should take the family on a fun vacation this year. You know, before the kids grow up and hate me for never taking them to Disneyland.
This was the first time our kids have been on an airplane. The first time all five of us have been on a vacation together. And the kids’ first trip to Disneyland (it’s also the first time my wife and I have been to the Magic Kingdom in ten years). Disneyland was very fun and very tiring. I’m still trying to recover. The last couple of days, I felt like I was doing everything in slow motion.

How fun! I’m sure the kids were thrilled beyond belief. We haven’t been to Disneyland in about five years; I think we’re overdue.
I know what you mean about spending that stimulus check on a fun trip. We did the same thing this year, and normally it would have been saved. We decided it was much more important to get away and relax.
Too bad we can’t have a stimulus check every year! Now that would be magical.
Those are some great photos! We went to disneyworld, and well, we don’t plan on going back to florida anytime soon. hehe.
But we’d love to check out disneyland, and also would have to check out seaworld too. Oy. So much to do!
Don’t forget the SD Zoo. I’ve never been there, but I’ve heard it’s a must see.
That sounds like a wonderfully fun trip! I want to go!
If I’ve known earlier, I could have stuff you in our suitcase. Maybe next time.
Love the pictures! It is a fun and exhausting trip isn’t it? My kids liked the same rides. My daughter’s favorite was anything that got her really wet. LOL
Hugs,
Holly
I hope you brought extra clothes to the park. We didn’t and the kids had to walk around in wet clothes.
how fun! and thank you for doing your part in saving our economy ;)
Anything to help the world get out of the slump.
fun, fun! We love Disney and are spoiled to live nearby and have passes to go most of the year. Too hot to go right now ;) - my little guy adores Splash Mountain too ;).
You’re lucky. I think my daughter wants to live in one of the castles in Disneyland.
Sounds awesome! Our last trip to Disney was three years ago and I can’t wait for our next one. Three days isn’t long enough, though. To see everything at Disneyland you need at least three weeks, not three days.
I agree, three days is not long enough if you have little kids on the trip. I wonder if it will be easier when the kids are older. But then they might not want to hang with mom and dad.
Disneyland, now there is a place i’d love to go with the kids! NOt likely to happen… just a bit far to go eh? Looks like you and the family had fun, you lucky buggers!
You can fly to LA like us. But I’m sure it will take a little longer than 2.5 hours from Australia.
My kids have always wanted to go to Disneyland! Ain’t gunna happen (I am in Australia) unless I win the lottery.
And my favourite part would be the shopping too!
Seems like it’s a matter time before Disney comes to Australia. A Disneyland in every country!
Nice to see you doing your patriotic duty and spending those checks!! :] What fun!
That’s right. We were serving America at Disneyland.
The pictures are great! I miss going to Disneyland. We used to live about an hour away so we went all the time. The kids (and parents) look like they are having a blast!! Your son just cracks me up! He has the best facial expression.
I wish we lived closer. Then we could just go any time we wanted and not have to plan it ahead of time.
We went to the Disney here in Hong Kong and although a bit small, it was a lot of fun. I’m with Spiderboy, the Buzz Lightyear AstroBlasters ride was really fun!
Disneyland in LA is small too compared to Disney World in Florida. Someday, I would like to go to Disney World too.
It looks like y’all had so much fun. You are now SuperDaddy and have to out-do yourself next year. Good thing you have a whole year to plan for it, huh?
We spent part of our Stimulus check on a Wii. How fun is that! The rest went to bills.
I don’t think we can afford to do this again next year. I guess I’ll be mean daddy next year.
I plan to take my son to HK Disneylang or Tokyo Disneyland when he’s about 5 or 7. I hope we have as much fun as you guys seem to have had.
Better 7 than 5. I had to carry my 5-year old son back to the hotel. Too much walking for his tiny legs.
Next time you go… take me with you! I’m saving up to take the kids one day, but they need to be a little older… so like your kids, they can remember the one time I took them on vacation. My excuse of the rest of their life!
The only really good thing about living in NC is that you have the mountains on one side and the beach on the other, but we’re still too lazy.
Sadly, the Little Monkey probably won’t remember her trip to Disneyland. I guess we’ll have to save up and go again. Next time, they have to be old enough to walk the whole day w/o being carried.
HOW FUN!! What a cool dad you are!! Wasn’t it stinkin HOT there????? yeeesh. Magic Mountain hit over 100 degrees while we were there. I liked the rides with the mist coming down while we stood in line. It’s going to be 80 in Seattle today, though….yay…same in your area? We’re finally getting summer! woooooo!
Looks like the LA heat wave followed us home. It’s suppose to be upper 90’s today. Disneyland could have used some of those mists — especially when we had to stand in line while the sun melted our bodies.
That’s awesome! I’m so glad you all got to go. What a wonderful family memory!
We have yet to take a vacation as a family. I think Disney is the perfect choice.
Disney is a fun vacation, but your husband might not want to ever go home.
Aww, they look like they had a blast. I am just dying to take my son on the Disney World trip. Tiring, but worth it.
Yes, it’s very tiring. Especially if you have to carry the kids on your back. Even our eight year somehow forgot how to walk.
Looks like SO much fun!!!!
Next year, it’ll be even better. We’re going to the windy city and live with you for the summer.
Seriously, your kids could not get any cuter.
