Freedom Writers

Freedom Writers DVDI saw Freedom Writers Thursday night. I loved it and recommend it. I don’t usually plug movies, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say you’ll like it too. If you don’t like it, well, there’s obviously something wrong with you.

The movie is about a young teacher trying to inspire her inner-city students. Yeah I know what you’re thinking — another movie about an inspirational teacher. I thought the same thing when I first saw the movie on the shelf at BlockBuster, which was why I wasn’t willing to pay 389 cents to rent it. Then I saw the movie again. This time on the shelf at the library (when did they start carrying DVDs?). It was free and the library doesn’t exactly have an extensive selection of movies, so I checked it out. I loved it and you will too. Now go see Freedom Writers. Have a good weekend everyone!

There’s a little bad language so don’t watch with the little ones.

Sorry, McDreamy is really McBarely-in-Movie. It’s Hilary’s movie.

I’m the same way. If I read the book first, I’m usually disappointed in the movie because it condenses the story to two hours.

An Indiana teacher was suspended one year for teaching this book in class! I found the story on http://detentionslip.org.
