I’m Manly Nice
I’ve been given the Nice Award. Not once, but twice. That makes me twice as nice, right? I’m flattered people think I’m nice and who doesn’t want to win an award? This award even comes with a date with a nice girl, Jessica Alba. I hope the wife doesn’t mind.
As wonderful as this award is, I can’t help but notice that the recipients of the nice award are usually women…and I’m a man. Wait, let me check……yep, I’m still a man. A couple of questions. First, are men even allowed to receive this award? Seriously, look at the graphics. It doesn’t look very manly, does it? A normal guy wouldn’t put it on his blog. It’s a good thing I’m not normal.
Second question: Am I the only guy to win this award? This award kinda reminds me of my college days — back when co-eds told me (hourly) I was nice and we could still be friends. Now I’m all grown up and I still have women telling me I’m nice. I’m not nice I tell you. I’m evil. EVIL.
Silly me. I almost forgot to mention who gave me the award. Doris (3d’s Adoption Journey) and Jenny from Chicago (Chased by Children) gave me the nice award. I’ve been reading Doris’ blog for almost a year now. During that time, I have been following Doris’ struggles to adopt a girl from China. Sadly, she’s still waiting to adopt. Jenny is a new read for me. She’s funny and likes to be blindfolded when she blogs. According to Jenny, hell is still using dial-up. Go ahead, check them both out (guys, I’m talking about their blogs, not their bods).
I think I’m suppose to give the nice award to deserving bloggers. I think everyone that reads my blog is nice. You have better things to do. Yet, here you are, reading my blog. So, I hereby give the Nice Award to all my readers. You deserve it. Congratulations. Go ahead, ladies, post the nice award graphics on your blog. For you guys out there, I give you the Manly Silver Surfer Award (unless you prefer the pretty pink, flowery graphics at the top).
[Update: At the request of Mark and Jenny, I've come up with the Double 07 Award - manly, yet suitable for boys and girls. I stole the graphics from Jenny. She has been stalking Mr. 007, who is gay according to a commenter on her blog.]

Dude, I’m not sure just how “manly” the silver surfer is, either. He’s too clean. You need something with construction vehicles or timbersports.

Ummmm….that was supposed to be a compliment! Love the silver surfer award. Would be nice if you’d come up with one appropriate for both girls and boys. Just a thought.

Hmmmm the 007 series do seem to be a bit more manly, although secretly I think the call out for kindness is worth a lot more even if it does come with pink ribbon. :)

Very clever. Love them all. Could you contemplate a really cool one for girls? Those floating around out there currently just aren’t cutting it for me.
