Breast Cancer, PH, Heart Defects, CdLS, and the Cure

Mama Luxe tagged me for the non-profit meme last month. I’m suppose to list the charities that has been compiled so far, then add five more charities or non-profit organizations to the list. But I’m going to do things a little differently (big surprise). Instead of listing five charities or non-profit organizations, I’m going to list five bloggers and their causes.

Ann is raising $2200 for cancer research by participating in the Seattle Breast Cancer 3 Day.

Desert Songbird has pulmonary hypertension (PH), which is an incurable, life-threatening disease. If you would like to help find a cure, consider making a donation to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.

Mama Luxe is raising money for congenital heart defects. Her baby was born with congenital heart defect and she had open heart surgery before she was even three months old.

Mark’s youngest son was born with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS), which is caused by a random genetic mutation. Visit the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation for more info.

Yoshi is participating in a blogathon to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.

I’m suppose to tag five bloggers now, so consider yourself tagged if you want to play. Here’s the list of charities or non-profit organizations other bloggers have compiled:

  2. Thanks for the shout out, Daddy Forever. I’m having a bit of struggle these days, but I’m heartened by the fact that a new drug has just been approved by the FDA for treatment of PH. Another drug, another hope.

Thanks for the mention! I greatly appreciate it. So far I’ve managed to raise more money than last year, and I’m about to plug another charity on my site as well.

    Thanks!

  4. What a neat twist. This meant more to me just knowing our friend’s daughter passed away this month from heart problems.

    Hugs,
    Holly

My pal Mommy The Maid is participating in the blogathon. It’s the same blogathon that Yoshi is taking part in, but Mommy The Maid is blogging for the American Diabetes Association. I’m sponsoring her, since I don’t think I could do the posting every 30 minutes for 24 hours.

The blogathon begins July 28th. You can sign up and participate or sponsor a blogger at the blogathon website: http://www.blogathon.org/index.php

This was the first I’d heard of it, but it sounds pretty cool.

What a nice gesture. I know many people have different charities that are special to them.
I walk in Relay for Life every year with my preschool teachers. It’s amazing, but 3 out of our 22 teachers are cancer survivors.

Yes. I’m one of the three.

YOU are the best. Thank you for the shout out!! I’m having a fundraiser this weekend. Cross your fingers for me if you will? It’s hard to get people to fundraisers…they like to hang on to their $$$ for some reason.

    =P
