Thinking Booger Award
Peepnroosmom nominated me for a Thinking Blogger Award (how about that, I actually made someone think instead of fall asleep). Thanks, Peepnroosmom! That’s really nice of you. Peepnroosmom nominated me a couple of weeks ago, but because I have not been thinking lately, I forgot about it. Now I’m suppose to tag five bloggers that make me think. But I’m not going to do it. Here’s my reason. I’ve seen this award/meme around the blogosphere for awhile now and I know some of you have already been tagged. But heck if I remember who has been tagged. And based on my previous meme experience, I always manage to tag people that have already been tagged or don’t want to be tagged.
Instead, I’m going to mutate the Thinking Blogger Award into the Thinking Booger Award. I know, how gross. But what can I say, I’m a dad with three young children. I think boogers are gross too, but you can’t escape them as a parent — especially when the kids like to wipe their nose on your shirt (ewwwww, ewwwww, and more ewwwww).
The rules to the Thinking Booger Award are simple:
- » Lists bloggers that make you think of boogers, mentioned boogers, or for any other booger-related reason you can think of.
- » You don’t have to be tagged in order to tag someone.
- » You can tag as many or as few bloggers as you want.
- » If you are tagged, you don’t have to tag anyone else if you don’t want to.
- » You are not allowed to flick boogers at someone who doesn’t want to play along.
This is not one of the rules, but I’ve decided to tag people I have never tagged before. For the very first Thinking Booger Award, I am tagging only two bloggers. Here are the two blogs I am tagging:
Almost Somewhat Positive — Mary should be right at home with this award because she has no problems blogging about boogers. Mary even made her daughter cry by stealing her booger. That’s the kind of dork Mary is.
Mark Ruins Dinner — No, there’s no connection between the name of Mark’s blog and boogers. As far as I know, boogers has nothing to do with Mark ruining dinner. Mark has three boys so I’m sure he has plenty of experience with boogers.
Sorry I didn’t create a fancy Thinking Booger graphics for people to use. I’m not a graphics artist and well, showing you a picture of a booger would be too gross (even for a dad).
Update: Mary has created several Thinking Booger buttons you can use. Thanks Mary! Here’s an example:

Man, this is SOOOOOOOOO You! I’m dying over here!
This is, by far, the greatest honor I could think of for my blog. And you’ve also given me a great idea for Mother’s Day lunch. What great timing!
I had to check what ‘booger’ means. Now that I know, I used to roll my boogers into a tiny ball when I was a kid. Ok. I’ll stop here.
OMG buddy, you so made my day! I am very proud to receive this award, because you are right… that’s the kind of dork I am. :D
You know I have to make something Photoshop for this right? Dishes be darned… I have a booger to photoshop!
Wow…how creative! Boogers as an award. If it makes you feel any better. My husband and I have a special pair of tweezers we keep downstairs just for booger rescue missions that are far too complex for the adult sized finger to retrieve.
OK, here’s what I have. I made 2 buttons in different sizes. Let me know which one to post on my blog… please feel free to have your recipients use these for their posts. Enjoy!

Just today, Julia picked a booger and ate it in front of everyone in her gymnastics class. One mother approached me and said, “You know, she’s doing that because she’s lacking something in her diet.”
I said, “Yeah. Boogers.”
Is there a kid that doesn’t do that at some point?
Anyway, love the Booger award. And you totally deserve the Thinking Blogger Award. My brain always feels heavier after I visit here.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! The Thinking Booger Award! Ha, ha, ha, ha! That is just too good.
Roo has just in the last week started picking his nose and eating his boogers. If I try to wipe it off of his finger he cries and says “mommy, NO!”
OMG. LOL You are so silly! :P
Lol! You just made me laugh out loud! I don’t know if I’m qualified for this award yet though as I can’t remember if I’ve ever posted about the Tornado in relation to boogers!
Lol!
heeeheeee! I love me some peepnroos. I’m gonna go check out your boogers.
This is so frightening for me, I’m going to have to read it a few times as a form of aversion therapy.
