100 Things About Us – Part Four
Finally, the last part of my “100 things” meme. I can’t wait until my 1,000th post so I can do a “1,000 things about me” post…NOT.
(76) I owned a sail boat in college
(77)…the hull was made out of styrofoam,
(78)…it could fit 2 people and was unsinkable (if only the Titanic was made out of styrofoam).(79) My wife earned more than I did when we first started dating and made me sign a prenup before we got married…just kidding about the prenup.
(80) I rode my bike to the top of a mountain once
(81)…but forgot to bring water and had to drink the water trickling down the mountainside
(82)…I rarely ride my bike outside now
(83)…but do ride a bike trainer indoors a few times a week.(84) Spiderboy use to play with the toys in his room before he was ready to go to sleep
(85)…now he wants me to read to him…sometimes he brings 20 books to bed with him.(86) When my oldest child was two, I took her to the zoo almost every day in the summer
(87)…she didn’t really care about the animals
(88)…she just wanted to play in the sandbox.(89) My son stopped taking naps when he was two
(90)…but he’s usuallystops tormenting measleep by 8 pm.(91) The little princess holds my hand when we walk to the bus stop
(92)…but when she gets off the bus, the entity that looks like my daughter ignores me and runs off with her friends.(93) I lived in Hong Kong for the first five years of my life and have been banned from ever returning…actually, I can’t afford to go back.
(94) I was a vegetarian
(95)…until the littlecarnivoreprincess insisted on feeding me her food when she was a toddler.(96) I was kicked out of five different grade schools…just kidding about being kicked out…I was thrown out.
(97) I didn’t go to my neighborhood high school
(98)…because it was full of drug dealers and pregnant girls…the district eventually closed the school.(99) When the little princess wakes up at night, she comes into our room and sleeps with us
(100)…but she makes her bed first (who makes their bed at 2 or 3 in the morning?)

I love it that she makes her bed before she jumps into your bed. I wish I would make mine after I crawl out every morning.
I love #85. Roo wants me to read every book he owns before he goes to bed, too.
Wonderful list, Daddy. I, too, wish my kids would make their beds. At ANY time. EVER. They know how to, they just don’t. Sigh.
Now that my kids are old enough to read, I rarely read books to them. My son, however, surprised me the other night and asked me to read “How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?” to him before bedtime. He said he missed my special “voices.”

Julia has also given up her naps, too. Oh, how I wish they’d come back.
