My Music
Mary tagged me for the music meme. I am suppose to list seven songs or cds that I have listened to recently and elaborate a bit. Then I am suppose to tag seven other bloggers for the music meme. I don’t listen to anything in particular (I have songs played randomly via Windows Media Player). However, I do notice some songs more than others. Below are seven songs that I usually notice. Go ahead, make fun of my music…my wife does.
Let it Be Me (Everly Brothers) – This was our wedding song so this one will always be special to me.
Buy Me a Rose (Luther Vandross) – Sad to say, but this song is about me. I forget to do the little things to make my wife happy.
Morning Side of the Mountain (Donny and Marie Osmond) – Whenever the little Princess and I hear this song, we break into a duet where she sings for Marie and I sing for Donny. One of these days, I will have to tape our jam session.
Take it to the Limit (The Eagles) – Another one about me (“you can spend all your time making money, you can spend all your love making time”).
Could I Have This Dance (Anne Murray) – This one brings back fond memories of the little Princess. When she was three, the Princess sang the chorus of this song at the park. The moms were amazed and my daughter made me proud. How many three-year olds sing grown-up songs?
You’re the Reason I’m Living (Bobby Darin) – This was one of the songs I sang to my kids when they were babies. My kids really do give me a reason to live when life is crappy.
Seasons in the Sun (Terry Jacks) – The morbid side of me likes this song. I would go crazy if I knew when I was going to die, but at the same time, it would be nice to kiss the kids and wife one last time…and tell them “I love you” before I go.
I’m tagging all the commenters on my last post (except for Holly and Yoshi). Play along if you wish, no worries if you don’t. I’ve seen this meme around, so if you have already done this meme, you can skip it or do another one.

I did this meme about a week ago, but I’m might hash out another one. Got lots of songs that I could list.
Okay…Donny and Marie and Anne Murray…hmm….well, I COULD say some things, but…nah…
I won’t make fun of your songs, I’ll just thank you for making me feel cool. Hadn’t heard Anne Murray’s name in a few years. You asked how many three year olds sing grown up songs. My kids sing along with Linkin Park, is that a bad thing?
I’m so out there that I don’t even know who Linkin Park is.
You are so mellow! And a sentimental guy too.
Will do..but a slight variation.
Keep smilin!
I did this one not too long ago, but I love music. I may have to do it again.
You have a good list. I love The Everly Brothers and Take It To The Limit is a great song. The Anne Murray song makes me think of Urban Cowboy. I love that movie – there are so many reasons I should hate it, but I love it. My husband used to practice Seasons In The Sun as a youngster – he’d record himself singing with the record player, just wishing for a show like American Idol way before its time.
Payback! This time it’s for REAL! (sounds like the Geico advertisement, doesn’t it?)
Take it to the Limit….one of my ALL TIME FAVES!!!!
If it makes you feel any better… no one would have ever heard of the people I listen to! They’re modern and all but I listen to things no one else does. But I also listen to things everyone listens to as well. There’s no in between. They’re either VERY popular, or very not.
Weird… I only recognized the Eagles song… I must be totally out of the music loop (and I thought I was an expert!)…
i love anne murray songs…she really sings from the heart. where is she these days?
