I am Perfect
Look at what I won, a Perfect Post for January 2007 award. My friend, tiggerprr, gave it to me. She’s trying to butter me up. Tiggerprr and I have been setting up an arranged marriage between her daughter and my son. I am offering a dowry of 50 cows and 6 ponies. I think the offer is generous. My wife’s parents only got 24 cows and a turtle. Tiggerprr is holding out for more. Hence, the award.
The timing is a little odd because last week I was wondering if I should continue blogging. Daddy Forever is far from being a useful blog. I don’t live an exciting life and I can’t imagine readers wanting to read my blog month after month. Then there’s my writing. I’m not exactly a gifted writer. I spend most of my time writing code. So writing complete sentences is a struggle for me. Hard to believe I have a college degree when I can’t even write proper sentences.
Tiggerprr gave me the award for my I Have a Dream post. After I wrote that, I thought I was going to get flamed for writing that post on Martin Luther King’s birthday. I thought people might consider my post disrespectful, which was not my intent. It’s because of people like Dr. King that my children and I will not have to endure the things that other people had to endure.
I guess this is the part where I’m suppose to thank everyone. First, I want to thank tiggerprr for giving me the award (visit her blog and let her know my dowry offer is very generous). I also want to thank Angelina Jolie and Gong Li for always being there for me in my dreams. Can’t forget about the wife and kids. Without them, I would have nothing to write about. I want to thank my cousin Feng Shui, Aunt Yin, and Uncle Yang for bringing balance and harmony in my life. I also want to thank all the people I stepped on to get this award. Finally, I want to thank all of you. Without you, there would still be me, but no you. And if there’s no you, I would have no readers. Thank you everyone.

Oh… btw, you can treat blogging (writing complete sentences) as writing documentation for your programming code ya, unless (oops!) you are one of those I-hate-documentation coders!!!

I love your blog. Please don’t quit writing. I check it every day. As for your blog being “useful”, what blog about kids and family is useful? It’s just nice to read about other people who have lives that are hectic and fun and boring and normal just like everybody else’s. Your “I have a Dream” post was so good. I think that’s what every parent wants for their children.
Don’t you DARE stop writing your blog. With so many mommy blogs out there, it is such a treat to read a daddy blog, and your writing is fine. You have just the right balance of dry humor and intelligence. Not and easy thing to do for you code jockeys!

My roommate was a guy who I went to high school and college with. We were the quiet types and didn’t throw any parties. I bet if threw some keggers my wife would have thought we were party animals instead of a couple of gay guys.
You totally deserved that award! You better not stop blogging, it’ll make me sad. My husband would like to know where the pigs are in that offer. He seems to think that pigs are in order. What can I say? He likes BLTs. ::shrug::
OK, I’ll toss in the pigs, but you will have to grow your own lettuce and tomatoes.
