As long as people reconize you as a “boy”, things are going along o.k.! ;)

Whether someone in the mall assumes my daughter is a girl or boy makes no difference to me … as long as they are commenting on her cuteness, and not the fact that she has just pulled something off the shelf! But if they call me “buddy” or “mister”, there is going to be trouble!!

Looks like a boy! But in the picture on the top, with the light color of the jacket it is not as easy to know. But looking at the picture below, yes, a boy!

Daddy Forever, I feel your pain! My son is a year old and has big blue eyes. He could be wearing a dark blue outfit with cars all over it and I still get “What a pretty little girl!” Maybe we should get pink and blue tags to hang around their necks to make it easier for people with bad eyesight? :-)

I thought they were both the right sex. I asked my husband, and my husband knew your son was a boy; he thought the second picture was the same kid; thereby making her a boy. When I told him they were two different children, he still guessed boy because of the blue. I originally though girl=she has a feminine face!

OK, I did think you had posted a pic of Princess when she was little. I think Princess and Spiderboy do look alike, so the coat threw me off. Sorry. Toddler K looks like a girl.
I’m glad you found me at my new domain. It’s through GoDaddy and I really don’t know how to work it. I can post, but I don’t know how to post a picture that isn’t GIANT. I also have other problems because I am afriad to push buttons. I’m afraid I will go into a computer neverland and never get back. I would never pass a test on computers or blogs if one was given to me. Thanks also for showing me how to change my domain name with blogger.

Colour coding kids is so annoying… Like, what about red? Is it boy or girl? Or once I bought a purple bib and thought it’s was ok, till oBut also the hair… As soon as it’s a bit longish, people assume it’s a girl.

Though we don’t struggle much with clothes. We have grandparents and aunts/uncles who buy us jackets almost every other week…

When my little girl was first born, we dressed her head to toe in pinks and purples and still people would say to us, “MY! What a handsome little boy!”
Again, dressed, head to toe in pink. My little girl looks like a little girl even when she wears blue.
Your son looks like a son and your daughter looks like a daughter…sometimes (all the time) people choose not to think. But never mind that, regardless of sex, they are both really cute kids.

So true it is. When my daughter was a baby, she was in a baby blue outfit and was mistaken for a boy.

Alhough when the boys were younger, I had a lot of people assume I had a girl and a boy regardless of what they were dressed in. (I’ll let you guess which one was always assumed to be the girl.)

Before Julia had the long girly locks of hair, she was mistaken for a boy if I didn’t have her dressed in pink or purple. If she wore something blue, gray or red people assumed she was a boy. To me, she has looked like a girl 100%, from the day of her birth, but that’s probably because she’s my girl.

I actually saw one mother at the grocery store that had taped (yes, with scotch tape) a bow onto her infant daughter’s head so people would know she’s a girl.

Taking your child out in gender neutral clothing could be an interesting experiment – to see how people react based on the gender they perceive the child to be.

Regardless of all that, your children are absolutely beautiful. You have no reason to worry.

They are cute in whatever colour but as the previous commenter said, when they are young, colour defines them. I always ask if unsure, what their name is? No mistaking that unless it is Chris!

Unfortunately, color is a defining thing for kids, especially when they are very young and somewhat androgynous. I was confused by the photo of Spider Boy as well; I wasn’t sure if it was your daughter or your son. Sorry!

A lot of our ability to determine the gender of a young child is all taken in context: what they’re wearing, whether you can see their hair and eys, etc.

I’m sorry we all thought your son was your daughter!

Daddy Forever, you kill me. ;) I recognized that it was your son in that first photo, but then again, I have an advanced degree in nuclear physics. You can't expect everyone to possess my shrewd observational powers.
