You’re the Reason I’m Living

Here’s another grown-up song I like to sing to my kids. It’s called You’re the Reason I’m Living (aff) by Bobby Darin. I think the song will hit home with a lot of parents. Life isn’t easy and and it can be very frustrating at times. Then we see the smiles on our kids’ faces and to some degree, we see the meaning of life, the meaning of our existence. It’s our children. They are the reason why we do the things that we do. They are the reason why we endure life’s burdens. Without our kids, we would be lost.

Here are the lyrics to the song:

You’re the reason I’m living
You’re the breath that I take
You’re the stars in my heaven
You’re the sun when I wake

You’re the reason I’m living
Oh, you carry me through
All of life’s little burdens
I’d be lost without you

A long, long time ago
When I was down
Oh, you picked me up and showed me
True love still could be found

You’re the reason I do things
You’re the things that I do
You’re the reason I’m living
I’d be lost without you

You’re the reason I’m living
Oh, you carry me through
All of life’s little burdens
I’d be lost without you
