Looking for a gift for a little girl? How about a cheer leader outfit? Princess M got this outfit for her birthday last June. She finally got to open it this month. During the kids birthday parties, they can unwrap all the presents, but they can only open a few of them that day. The rest of the presents are opened over a 3-4 month period. As I mentioned previously, Princess M wants to be a cheer leader and doctor. With this cheer leader outfit, she’s half way there.
The cheer leader set includes a skirt, shirt, pom poms, whistle, and instructional DVD. We have not seen the DVD yet, but I’m sure Princess M will love the DVD and will want to watch it over and over and over and over again. The set is called “Dream Dazzlers – Learn to Cheer Set” and the box indicates it was purchased at Toys R Us. I could not find it online so I’m not sure if it’s only available in the store or if it has been discontinued.
According to the box, the set is not for kids under three. Princess M is six and I would not get the set for anyone older than eight. Keep in mind that the older/taller the kid is, the more skin will be exposed. So don’t get this for a sixteen year old unless you want people to call her a skant.
The outfit seems a bit flimsy to me and cannot be thrown in the washer or dryer. You have to hand wipe it with a wet cloth to clean it. I’m not sure how well it will hold up over time. However, Princess M did ride her bike in the cheer leader outfit all the way to the store (less than a mile round trip). The whole time, I was hoping the outfit wouldn’t fall apart on her.
Princess M loves her outfit and wants to wear it for Halloween. That will save me some money on a costume this year, but I have to figure out how to keep her warm on trick-or-treat night. Over here in the Pacific northwest, it dips into the 40’s at night in late October.
