Hulk’s Got a Girl Friend
It appears my son has inherited my fondness for super heroes. My daughter likes super heroes too, but not as much as Spiderboy. Whenever Princess M watches a super hero movie, she always picks the woman super hero as the person she wants to pretend she is. Princess M is very consistent, but my son is all over the place. Sometimes he wants to be Spiderman, other times he’s Captain America, Hulk, Ironman, Giantman, or Thor. For a while there, Spiderboy even pretended to be the Green Goblin. I hope that’s not a sign of things to come.

Spiderboy has also claimed my super heroes collection as his own. I bought a bunch of 2″ action figures at Target. I have every action figure except for the Martin Hunter of the Justice League. I can’t seem to find the Martin Hunter. All my super hero action figures use to be in my in my wife’s perfume display case (she had an empty shelf), but Spiderboy took them out and plays with then 24×7.
I’m actually quite amazed at his role-playing. A lot of times Spiderboy pretends my his action figures are fighting with each other, which is why the paint are starting to chip off of them. Oh well, they cost less than $3 each. Other times, Spiderboy takes two action figures and have them talk to each other. The role-playing is actually something I thought Princess M would be into, but she’s not into role-playing. When she was a toddler, she took off all the clothes of her dolls, but she never had them talk to each other. Even now, she dresses her dolls and combs their hair, but they don’t interact with each other. Spiderboy, on the other hand, loves role-playing. Sometimes he even pretends the action figures are someone else. For instance, I don’t have Wasp and Black Panther (of the Avengers) so he points at Hawkgirl and Venom and tells me they are Wasp and Black Panther. Below is a short illustration of his role-playing. The part of Betty (Hulk/Bruce Banner’s love interest) is played by Wonder Woman.
