Today is a big day for my wife and our two oldest kids. Today is not like any other day. Today is their birthdays. That’s right, all three of them were born on the same date. Princess M turns six, Spiderboy turns three, and my wife turns a year older.
We’re keeping it low key today — probably just go out for dinner. We have not done that in a while. Its always fun taking three young kids to a restaurant. The kids lose their excitement at about the time the food arrives. Then baby starts crying and the other two kids start walking around the restaurant and staring at people while they eat.
The big celebration will take place this weekend when we have the kids’ birthday party. I think Princess M invited all 10,457 of her friends from school. Actually, we have two other birthday parties to go to this weekend too. This is the second weekend this month that we have had three birthday parties to attend.
My special day is Sunday — Father’s Day. However, I don’t think we will be doing anything special on my day. For the second year in a row, one of our friends decided to hold a birthday party for their kid on Father’s Day.
Princess M’s getting a bike this year. When I took her to the store to size her up, Princess M pointed to the most expensive bike there. I looked online for a better deal, but the store has an exclusive on it. So, instead of a $30 bike, we’re bought a $80 Strawberry Shortcake bike. Princess M has her mommy’s taste for the finer things in life.
My wife bought more toys for Spiderboy. Apparently, he needs more things to destroy. My wife also bought an expensive pair of sunglasses at Sak’s to save me the trouble of finding a gift for her. How nice of her. I think her new sunglasses cost more than our house.
